The Album

Hi-Fi Comedy Kit is a comedy album unlike anything ever recorded. On the first half, you the listener are treated to high-end sketch comedy that Hip.Bang! refined while performing all over the world and crafted by brilliant director and editor Chris Kelly (Kelly&Kelly). 

On the second half, you are invited to get fully involved in high-concept, interactive sketches that challenge the boundaries of what’s possible in audio comedy:

– toss on a supportive listener and talk out whatever is on your mind. 

– take part in an actual, structured spin class with special guest coaches. 

– do some people watching and find out what strangers are really thinking.

– get some sleep with the assistance of over 15 continuous minutes of dad noise.

– try an unhinged murder mystery with friends!

A project that has been over four years in the making, Hi-Fi Comedy Kit is designed to celebrate and explode what you thought was possible in audio comedy. It was created by Hip.Bang! and Kelly&Kelly with generous support from the Canada Council for the Arts and writing and cast contributions from across the Canadian comedy community. 

THE LAUNCH SHOW

The release show for this album will be as audacious as the project itself: a wild night of comedy featuring live performances of album tracks, special guests (including members of Treat Show Comedy, The Sunday Service and Little Mountain Improv) and some unhinged on-stage experiments that will give you a delicious taste of the conceptual side of Hi-Fi Comedy Kit.

Each ticket comes with a download code for Hi-Fi Comedy Kit and all ticket holders will receive early access* to the full album!

Part show, part community celebration, part you-get-an-album, this is going to be a real nice night on all fronts. Tickets are limited, get ’em while you can.

It is on the east side of Main Street, between Pender and Keefer. Look for the address (524 Main St) above a black door with the cloud on it.

Unfortunately this venue has limited accessibility due to a steep staircase at the entrance.

The full album–all 42 tracks (!!!)–is available wherever you listen to music on Friday, August 29. Consider grabbing it on Bandcamp where a much more equitable percentage of your dollar goes to the artists.
